Why Open Door?

When I was 16 years old, The Lord spoke to me through the Scripture and gave me the verse found in Revelation 3:8. Jesus was speaking in the passage and He stated,

"I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name."

This verse has shaped my life. I was so excited about this experience I went to see my Youth Pastor the next day to express my experience with Jesus. He was excited as excited as I was. This experience shaped me and still directs me to this day. I am no longer 16 yet I remember this experience like it happened yesterday.

I know that "Biblically speaking" the things I am about to share are not "contextual" with the book of Revelation. However, this experience is just one way God spoke to me personally.

The "Open Door" spoke to me initially about "Limitless Possibilities" in God. For years I would draw strength from this verse knowing that no matter what I face he has given me an open door that no man can shut.

Within the last four years, the "Open Door" has spoken to me about "Access" with God. I have always wanted a deep personal relationship with Jesus. I am not saying that I did not have a relationship with Jesus, I knew there was something more and deeper.

Access! I have an open door to His presence that I do not have to struggle to get or "work" my way to get there. I have access. My spirit is connected with His spirit (I Cor 6:17) and I have access.

I am sure I will write more about the Open Door on later blogs.
