Fireproof the Movie II

I can’t believe I am blogging about this movie again?! This movie has really stayed with me. For some reason, I can’t get it out of my head and my heart.

First, let me say that to just call this movie a “movie” is selling the message short. I thought about my last blog and I did not give this movie its proper perspective. This movie passionately describes the many problems that face marriages. Schedules, ego, time, money, sex, and misplaced priorities are all traps that marriages can get derailed. These themes are interwoven in this movie. But, the movie goes beyond the problems and traps to offers a clear solution.

True love comes from Jesus for God is love. We have all gone astray, misplaced our priorities and were caught up in our ego at one time or another, yet God loved us while we were yet sinners. Thank you Jesus!

This movie is actually a ministry from the Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany Georgia (sherwoodbaptist.net). This church also made the movie, “Facing the Giants” (my kids lived this movie) and “Flywheel.”

Just think, a church was interested in, “Engaging the culture in a format that is understood” (taken from fireproofmymarriage.com).

I stand and applaud this church for having the guts to take on such projects!

Dave
