I have finally decided to put my paperwork in for ordination. I have been a licensed minister for the past 10 years but never went for ordination. There are many reasons that I chose not to get ordained, but the main idea was "readiness." I just wanted to be ready.
Why wait until I was ready? I wanted to make sure that the moment was right for me and that I was not pushing my way through the process just to say that I was ordained.
Timing was important regarding full time ministry. I wanted to be ordained when I ONLY worked in the church full time. That may sound silly to you but for me it was a stepping stone. From the fall of 1992 until the fall of 2008, I have ministered in churches and worked outside the church as a tent maker.
Ordination? I believe that God has already set me apart for His ministry. Ever since I can remember I have always felt His call on my life and I am simply following Him in this process.
So, now I have to study for the ordination test, pass the test, be interviewed and then the ordination ceremony.
I am looking forward to this next stage in my life!
